Audience Research User-centered design bound to various research and design tactics that include the user in each stage of the design process. It is important to deeply understand your user and the way they interact with each part of the product. One great way is to use a user persona template. This enables designers to formulate a target user grounding the product. Good user research is crucial to a project’s success. Hence, it is important to know the target audience in helping designers to tailor design specifically to the user's needs. (Tony Ho Tran, 2019.) The targeted audience for this Transmedia Project are young American ladies, aged 18 to 26, also known as Millennials. It carries the purpose to encourage more audience engagement. The game aims to help the audience in reflecting their own personality. Most personality tests are just for fun, however it does reveal the truth and insights that help shed light on different characteristics of one‘s personality, behavior, and preferences. TRANSMEDIA PRACTICE - ORIGINALITY

Image
Originality Storytelling is an important marketing tool for brands looking to ground their business strategy with messaging that is significant, emotionally engaging, and valuable. During past times, companies convey messages to consumers on a basic level which is through advertising. Even though this includes various methods like brochures, flyers, posters and advertisements in traditional media, it was only advertising. There was not much interaction involved. This kind of one-way street was effectively a monologue. Brands today need to be storymakers, no longer about broadcasting messages as a storyteller. In recent days, companies have started evolving the traditional marketing ways into a more advanced approach to digital storytelling and multimedia asset development. (Deans, 2016) It is called the transmedia marketing where the content can be offered through videos, blogs, ebooks, social networks, games, and more. Narratives were developed across various media in order...

TRANSMEDIA PRACTICE - KEY INFLUENCES / MARKET RESEARCH

Image
Key Influences / Market Research The idea of the “Unleash with Hana” web series is a completely different storyline, with different characters. Each story seems separated but it shares the same theme, which is public humiliation, and taking place in the same universe. People may be confused when watching each story, wondering about the connectivity. However, it somehow has details and clues to connect each story to reveal the endings, where at the end of the story, the three characters are the same person. Yet, each story consists of detail and meaning behind it to stand on its own. Inspired from the Black mirror series, there are teasers in each medium we used for the web series to have interaction with the audience, such as the captions in Instagram, the tweets in Twitter and the clue in the video. It is a skill where we lead the audience to participate in the story and find clues within the three stories to reveal the endings.

TRANSMEDIA PRACTICE - GROUP WORK PROGRESSION

Brainstorming and Idea Research Group projects require teamwork, however it is not that everyone does the same position. Any successful team needs people to take on roles as our professional life is a team sport. (ART MARKMAN, 2020). Throughout the whole project, two of us separated to do the parts we are good at. We managed to finish our part and gained experiences, as we came across with skills that are new to us. It seems a small project but it requires a lot of team working skills to bring our project to the best outcome. We learned how to work and give updates with each other, which updates within group mates are important. It is to ensure each of us can work effectively and achieve a happier yet more productive team. (olivia, 2020). Starting from doing research and ideas brainstorming, to the execution of a project, we knew the knowledge and steps to create a transmedia project.
