TRANSMEDIA PRACTICE - PERSONAL APPLICATIONS

PERSONAL APP

Mobile applications were used as one of the media platforms for this Transmedia Project. This mobile application was created with gameplay interactions. It carries the purpose to encourage more audience engagement. The game aims to help the audience in reflecting their own personality. Most personality tests are just for fun, however it does reveal the truth and insights that help shed light on different characteristics of one‘s personality, behavior, and preferences. (Cherry, 2020) The time count implied in the game is to avoid the audience from thinking too long in choosing the attributes. It is to let the audience know themselves better and be confident always.

Based on the selection of attributes, each audience will get an ideal personalized essential oil that suits them. Our target audience, the millennials, make up a huge portion of the buying public. Approximately 55 percent of millennials agree that they favour personalized experiences, especially those associated with a good cause. (Lu, 2019) The vouchers received from after participation from the web series are to be used in the mobile applications. According to the book ‘Predictably Irrational’ by Dan Ariely, the behavioural patterns of a person changes when something free comes along and they are more willing to comply. Free is a very strong emotional trigger that is often so irresistible. If the product is free and there is good reason for it, consumers will love it and eventually lead them to purchasing in the future. (Srinivasan, 2019)

From this frame animation, it can be seen the slight movement of how things work.

Overall, this mobile applications is to help H’ana increase the level of accessibility to the audiences. Through the interaction and participation, it encourages the audience especially the young ladies who are growing into their own to unlock their potential. This indirectly helps them to endure external judgements, societal pressures and stigmas, just as we named our campaign, “Unleash with H'ana".
